I then spent the next 6 hours and another 8 hours the next day trying to figure out how to get it to re-install. I however accidentally screwed up my machine by doing a somewhat messy uninstall of MSI's Dragon Center. Swapping a base level variant of the GPU out for a higher-tier variant of the same card, both manufactured by MSI.Īt first the question was just what I needed, I only needed a way to force an update to show the new card. This is a bit of a strange and particular use-case. Perused through DC's install directory but had no file that stood out as a system information log that could be deleted to force a rescan.Įdit: was correct in that deleting all the registry keys would help - however that is not entirely accurate. Side note: the old card had no LEDs or fancy doodads whereas the new one is Mystic Light compatible but it does not show up in the Home > Mystic Light screen. How would one go about forcing an update or a re-poll of the hardware? I recently installed a different variant of the same graphics card and it has not updated to show the new version. If you go to Home > User Scenario > Custom, it will show you the currently installed GPU.

Same thing with those folders I mentioned “Patriot” and “PD” that have to do with RGB also - not sure if they’re dragon center or not.Original Question: I regularly use MSI's Dragon Center software to help me manage my custom PC build. I’m just not sure if that’s something to do with my default RGB software, or if it’s something to do with dragon center, so I don’t want to delete it if it’s the former. There’s also one folder in program files called “ENE”, and inside a folder called “Aac_ENE RGB HAL”, and in that a couple of dll files. I’m just not sure where to look - in my program files there are a couple of folders, one called “Patriot” and one called “PD”, when I hover over them they have RGB related folders in them, but I’m not sure if those are just my standard RGB things. I uninstalled normally but I think there are leftover files hidden somewhere because my lights have been flickering and I get random times when my PC seemingly shuts down for a few seconds then comes back. Need help completely uninstalling dragon center
